Girls With Alopecia
I have noticed several visitors coming into this blog searching for “girls alopecia” I wanted to make a post just for you folks with several great resources and links within this site to help you out
First off I would like to say It must be very difficult for parents to try to support their young girls who suffer from alopecia…. kids can often be so cruel. Their is plenty of support offered online and you can find some excellent alopecia support groups on line. Just knowing your not alone can help tremendously.
If you are just learning about alopecia visit our types of alopecia page to learn about alopecia, we also have detailed information posted about alopecia areata here.
For additional information make sure to stop by the National Alopecia Areata Foundation here.

Are any women with AA dealing with the “having children” issue? I developed AU when I was 11. Most of my hair grew back within 2 yrs; however, the hair on my head is still thin and there are still patches. So, I still wear a wig. After 15 years, nothing has changed. Anyway, my husband and I are talking about having kids, but we do not want them to have AA. Any thoughts? I just need some advice. We are also considering getting a donor egg.

Hello Frustrated,
Brian here .. admin of the site, interesting you should post about having children and alopecia. It can be so difficult to watch kids with alopecia and very hard on parents, that is for sure. Regardless of the decisions you and your husband make I wish you the best.
Take care,
Brian
