Got Hair? Supporting Young Kids - Donate Your Locks!

As mentioned I started noticing balding patches on my scalp later in life (early 30’s) and had a somewhat easy time excepting my hair would no long be quite as cool as it had been for my entire life. Over the years I have always dealt well with that fact but have always thought how tough it would have been for me if I would have had this disease when I was younger.

At a time when self-image and confidence are just beginning to develop, children are sensitive to criticism and ridicule. Fragile feelings are often made more so when what sets them apart from their peers is the result of a medical condition.

The good news is that their is a terrific organization that helps young people who suffer from hair loss.

Locks of Love is a non profit group that provides human hair pieces to children under the age of 18 who suffer from long term medical hair loss. If you want to help you can, Locks of Love excepts human hair to help the young kids.

  • Hair must be 10 inches tip to tip
  • Bundled in a pony tail or braid
  • Placed in a plastic bag, and a papped envelope
  • The hair can not have been bleached, however colored hair is ok
  • Please share this resource with those you know (especially girls with longer hair who are thinking about cutting it off), it is nice to think about young girls getting a nice hair piece to help them with their confidence and self esteem.
