Preventing Hair Loss
Once you have identified that you are a victim of alopecia thoughts should be on how you can prevent hair loss and or “minimize hair loss”. Of course the first thing you will want to take into consideration is showering and shampooing of ones hair. I always look for natural shampoos and try to be somewhat gentle with my hair (although sometimes and itchy scalp can make this difficult).
I also think it makes sense to also make an appointment with a dermatologist right away, getting the proper diagnosis for your recent hair loss can help in preventing further hair loss. It is also important to note that some forms of alopecia tend to become tricky to treat as time goes by and you are less likely to grow your hair back as time marches forward as well.
Lastly, understand that your not alone… their are many people (as much as 2% of the world population) who also live with (I like the sound of live with better than *suffer*) alopecia and other forms of hair loss. Seeking out others that are going through the same things as you are can help a great deal.
Their are excellent support groups online as well as community support groups in many larger cities.
